Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics (CEREC) combines computer-assisted design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) tools with advanced software, a specialized digital camera, and a milling machine. These allow Dr. Borden to quickly design and produce a natural-looking crown right in our office rather than sending an impression out to a lab.

We also offer same-day crowns after root canal therapy and to complete dental implants. Dental implants are highly effective for replacing missing teeth from the root to the crown. Using CEREC technology, we can fabricate your implant-supported crown in a single visit, saving you time and money.
Our One-Visit Crowns Procedure
The procedure begins by having a consultation with Dr. Borden. He will evaluate your teeth and overall oral health to determine if a dental crown is right for you. If approved for crowns, Dr. Borden will start the procedure by administering an anesthetic and gently cleaning any lingering plaque and decayed tissue. He will also remove and shape a portion of the enamel to make room for the crown.
After the tooth is prepared, we will use a small intraoral camera to take digital images of your mouth. The CEREC software combines the images into a single 3D representation of the teeth and gums. Dr. Borden will use the 3D image to design the perfect crown for your unique contours and bite.
Once satisfied with the design, we transfer the 3D virtual model to our office's CEREC milling unit, which will create your crown from a solid block of quality, tooth-colored ceramic material. Once your crown is ready, Dr. Borden will apply a dental composite to secure the crown to your tooth. He will also make any necessary adjustments to ensure a comfortable fit. The end result is a beautiful, durable, and natural-looking dental crown.
